Made for this Moment

  As I was pondering what to write about next, I thought about the title of this blog. I had never thoroughly thought about the name. It was just a title that had popped into my head one day. The phrase 'Made For The Moment' sounded catchy and I decided to use it.

   Now that I have thought about it, though, I have realized that there is a lot of meaning behind it. What does it mean to be 'Made for the Moment?' Of course the world today has many definitions for this phrase. Ones such as, YOLO (you only live once), 'live for today as if it were your last,' 'Don't waste your life, live for the moment,' and so on and so on.

   As I continued to ponder this, I came to wonder how God sees this. I mean we are told all the time how the world sees this concept, but what is God's definition of YOLO, or 'living for the moment?' As I considered this question for a while, God showed me many different aspects on how He defines this phrase. In my devotions one morning I came across a few different verses;

   "Furthermore because we are united with Christ, we have received an inheritance from God, for he chose us in advance, and he makes everything work out according to his plan."
~ Ephesians 1:11

   "In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father."   ~ Matthew 5:16

   "Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit."   ~ Matthew 28:19

   According to His word, God has called us to live every moment of our life for His name. God created us to be a light to this world in every aspect of our lives. Every second that we live should be used, to the best of our ability, for His glory and to help bring others to Him. Each, hour, minute, second, and millisecond is important. It doesn't matter if you are just sitting on the couch watching TV or worshiping him with many others at church, God intends for us to use every moment of our life to glorify Him. At work, school, out grocery shopping, or taking a stroll through the park. It doesn't matter, God intends for us to shine his light wherever we are and in whatever we're doing so that all those around us may see Him through us.

   God created each and every one of us for his own unique purpose. Whether it's traveling to Asia to work as a missionary, or working in your local area as a store clerk, God intends to use you in whatever position you are in to spread His love to those you come in contact with.  But before that full plan comes to be, and even after it has, God is using every moment of your life to teach you and help you grow in Him.  Wherever it may be that God has placed you right now, He made you for this time in your life. He has placed you wherever you are to be a light for Him. To spread His amazing and unfailing love to all those who don't know Him.

   So don't waste the time God has given you to grow in and express His amazing love. God created you to make a difference. To change the world. Now you may not be able to change the whole world, but with God's guidance and love you can at least change the world of one person. You never know who or what God will place in your path so be ready. Don't worry about how everything will turn out, just trust God, because you were made for this moment.

  1. Oh my goodness, how you bless this mamma's heart! What a challenge your words are to me - especially this " God is using every moment of your life to teach you and help you grow in Him. Wherever it may be that God has placed you right now, He made you for this time in your life."
    How easy it is to forget that He can use us even in the growing moments.
